Since this campaign began, we have raised $637,745 toward a goal of $900,000.

A comforting number, until one remembers that the remaining 29% is the only part that matters.
The fundraiser event we hoped would help has been canceled.
An unfortunate reminder of the political economy of who gets to speak, who gets heard, and whose urgency is deemed worthy of a platform.
The legal bills have not been canceled.
The constitutional challenge has not been canceled.
The overdose crisis has certainly not been canceled.
How unfortunate.
People often imagine that important things fail because they are opposed.
More often, they fail because they run out of money.
