DULF Legal Aid Fund Update – 04/14/2026
They didn’t lose their way, they betrayed us. They had the evidence in their hands, and they traded it for applause. They had the truth in front of them, and they buried it beneath slogans, headlines, and fear. They shut down programs that work, not because they failed, but because they expose the failure of the system. They replace evidence with fear. They replace care with control. They replace truth with a politic that feeds on panic and call it leadership. And what does this give us? GRAVES.
We did not ask for your war on drugs. But we are the ones forced to live, and die, under it. Because the facts are not unclear. The evidence has spoken, over and over again:
A regulated supply saves lives.
A poisoned, illegal market kills.
Community-led distribution works.
Criminalization fails.
They know this. And still – they choose the lie. Drug policy is no longer policy guided by science. It is demagoguery dressed up as concern. And while politicians posture and perform, our people die.
Let us make something plain:
We are not brain damaged.
We are not mentally ill.
We are hundreds of thousands of people in this province who use drugs, and we deserve to live.
Do not come to us with empty speeches about recovery while you defend the very conditions that make recovery impossible. Do not preach care while you enforce death.
Do not strong-arm us.
We are not against recovery.
We are against death.
Because what kills our people is not simply drugs, it is the deliberate maintenance of a toxic, unregulated supply. It is a system that refuses to regulate, refuses to adapt, refuses to admit that it has failed. They silenced us not because we are wrong, but because we are right in a way that makes authority tremble.
If we do not regulate the drug market, our friends and our families will continue to die.
This is not ideology.
This is lived reality.
And still, they cling to punishment. They cling to cages. They cling to systems that have already proven themselves incapable of saving a single life from this crisis.
Carceral systems will not save us.
Jails are flooded with drugs.
Recovery systems are flooded with drugs.
Their answers are echoes of the same failed logic. Every time they ignore the evidence, every time they choose demagoguery over truth, they drive another nail into the coffins of the people they claim to serve.

They speak of order while presiding over chaos. They speak of safety while enforcing death. They speak of morality while abandoning the living. But understand this: we see through it. We see the performance. We see the cowardice. We see the calculation that weighs human lives against political convenience. We see truth.
And now we drag that same truth into the courtroom and put it on trial. They hope that if they bury it deep enough in legal language and procedure, no one will recognize it as evidence. But this fight, the fight facing the Drug User Liberation Front, is not merely a legal battle. They want to make an example of those who proved that people can live; we intend to prove that their system survives only by ignoring that fact.
So understand this: when you fund our fight, you are not giving charity, you are taking a side. You are standing with truth against demagoguery, with life against death, with evidence against a system that fears it. And if you believe in that evidence, if you believe our people deserve to live, then don’t stand on the sidelines, stand with us, and make it impossible for them to silence what has already been proven.
Together, we can do this.
Together, we are enough.
