DULF Legal Aid Fund Update – 04/01/2026
To those who have been following the matter,
We write to correct the record.
An error has been identified in our accounting.
In the course of reviewing our lawyers’ trust ledger, a transfer in the amount of $96,000 was interpreted as a deposit and expense. It has since been determined that this interpretation was incorrect. The sum in question had already been allocated and should not have been counted as newly received funds.
As a result of this misreading, we previously reported that $712,606.60 had been raised.
This figure was inaccurate.
The correct total is $616,606.60.
We regret this discrepancy.
The conditions under which this error occurred are not exceptional. The ledger was available. The figures were present. The mistake arose in the act of reading. That it occurred during an ongoing constitutional challenge, and under sustained administrative and legal pressure, does not alter its status as an error.
It has now been amended.
A second correction must also be entered into the record.
It was previously stated that $1,000,000 would be required to carry this matter through the trial phase.
This statement was incorrect.
The required amount is $900,000.
No further adjustments are anticipated at this time.

Total required: $900,000
Remaining: approximately $283,000
These figures reflect the corrected record.
They do not suspend the proceedings.
