$332,954.94 of $350,000. Almost there, yet always impossibly far. The theatre of it all unfolds with cruel precision – lives slipping like sand through trembling fingers while the so-called solution demands proof, across oceans and crowns, that a non-medicalized compassion club cannot exist on the “balance of probabilities,” and would never receive consent from hearts that will never beat in our presence. Far away, bureaucracy laughs, and Mr. Bones guides this wild ride, his grin a blade poised above the neck. Numbers sneer. Law sneers. And still, every human cost is ours to bear, heavy as lead, surrendering to the inevitable collapse of a dream that was never truly ours to hold.
