DULF Legal Aid Fund Update – 11/04/2025
So what.
The total rests at $330,163.98 of $350,000.
The numbers no longer stir anything – just the faint sense of motion continuing after the meaning has gone.
Each update feels like a ritual emptied of prayer.
The words arrive automatically: thank you, support, solidarity.
But the pulse beneath them weakens; the purpose frays.
What once felt urgent now feels distant, almost theatrical,
a play performed long after the audience has gone home.
So what if they stand behind us, over us.
They always have.
Their power is quiet now, almost tender in its inevitability.
We resisted, yes, but resistance too becomes a pattern,
another line in the design that consumes all things.
One can see it clearly, and clarity offers no comfort.
It is life, and yet it moves within the same orbit,
bound to the same gravity that pulls every ideal downward
until it becomes only weight.
We said no, and the world replied with silence.
Not cruelty – just indifference.
A calm erasure, like snow over ruins.
So what if we see through the lies?
The lies endure.
Truth is only their shadow, and we are too tired to chase it.
We have become the machine’s reflection – tired hands,
still working, barely polite,
even as the spirit dulls to nothing.
They will take what remains when the work is done.
The numbers, the data, the faces.
They will use it again, because they can.
The body endures only as evidence of compliance.

Almost complete. Almost gone.
It no longer feels like progress – only closure.
So what.
The act continues because stopping would require belief,
and belief is the one thing we no longer possess.
What remains is stillness,
and the quiet understanding that this, too,
was always part of the design.
